PART-TIME PARK RIDE HOST JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deal with all Visitors in a positive, courteous manner.

Operate ALL amusement park rides and attractions after being trained and certified.

Collect the correct amount of tickets and enforce all park ridership policies.

Take part in oral training of all park rides and procedures.

Pass written tests for certification of park rides.

Troubleshoot unsafe ride conditions and report to park Supervisors or Maintenance.

Help maintain ride and park cleanliness.

Physically assist children on and off the rides.

Participate in park programs such as face painting, balloon runs and other related forms of visitor interaction and entertainment.

Handle birthday and group party bookings.

Report directly to supervisors any problems, guest complaints, and/or emergencies.

Monitor and respond to inappropriate guest behaviour, including enforcing rules and restrictions, regulating guests’ actions and when necessary requesting assistance from a supervisor.

Respond quickly to emergency situations occurring during normal operations, including power failure, fire alarms and guest evacuations when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

At least 17 years of age.

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs to assist children on & off the rides

Must be able to climb a 32’ Rockwall to assist kids when necessary.

Must have flexible availability - working weekends and all statutory Holidays is required.

Must provide regular and consistent attendance at work.

Must purchase, wear and maintain proper park uniform.

Must be able to follow safety practices and be safety conscious.

Must be able to stand up to 8 hours at a time.

Must provide exceptional customer service, including being attentive to guests and fellow hosts.

Must be able to deal with guest grievances and complaints in a firm but friendly manner.

Must be familiar with all park policies, contained in employee handbook and Code of Ethics.

Must work scheduled shifts during peak periods (i.e. March break, Christmas break and during Summer).

Must communicate, lateness, absence from work or leaving work early with Supervisor(s) or Manager.

Will undergo 3-month orientation and feedback session.

Will undergo annual (or as required) performance appraisals.
